Call for Expression of Interest

Despite recent progress in the financial sector, many Ethiopian businesses — particularly Competitive Small and Medium Enterprises - women-led businesses continue to face significant challenges in accessing affordable and appropriate financial services. To address these barriers, the GIZ–Economic Transformation Cluster, on behalf of the German Government, invites Ethiopian financial institutions to participate as exhibitors at the Private Sector Forum. This platform offers a unique opportunity to showcase your financial products and services, expand your network with key stakeholders, and actively contribute to designing and implementing inclusive, sustainable, and innovative financing models that drive private sector growth and development in Ethiopia.

GIZ Ethiopia hereby invites banks and other financial institutions to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) that outlines:

1. Exhibit your Products: Formal confirmation of your institution's commitment to participate as an exhibitor in the Marketplace Session of the Forum.
2. Proposed Approach: Your institution's strategy to expand access to finance for competitive, growth-oriented SMEs, with a particular focus on the "Missing Middles" in Ethiopia.
3. Areas of Collaboration with GIZ: Potential areas of cooperation such as technical assistance, in policy advocacy, development of digital financial services, innovative lending schemes and improving the financial literacy of companies.
4. Expected Impact: Anticipated firms' benefits for Companies, with a particular focus on competitive and growth-oriented enterprises.
